The following is list of frequently asked volunteering questions.

Volunteering

Unfortunately there is no parking available on-site. There is unrestricted parking on the south part of Culmington Road adjacent  to Lammas Park although it is usually difficult to find a space. On Sunday there is free parking in the residents bays on the north part of Culmington road close to the side gate into Walpole Park.  Parking on Lammas Park Gardens is also free on Sunday in both the residents bays and the unrestricted area by the Walpole Park gates.

Food tokens are issued to volunteers based on the number of session worked – up to a maximum of two tokens per-day.  Tokens may be exchanged with most on-site caterers up to a face value of £5 (increased from £3 in 2022).  If you require more food unfortunately you will need to buy it. Please see a member of the staffing team if you are unsure.

Free tea and coffee is available to volunteers in the staffing office.

Hopefully!  We usually have around 100 T-Shirt’s for each sponsored day, however this depends on festival sponsorship leading up to the festival and may vary each year.

T-Shirts are prioritised and given to volunteers working all day, and then in order of the number of sessions worked until they run out.

Yes, your manager will arrange with you breaks. We have a volunteer rest area, with tea and coffee available. Please let your manage know if you have any special requirements.

Yes, unless you are in a stewarding role.

You are invited to enjoy a drink while working your festival sessions, within moderation. You will be entitled to help yourself to the range of drinks on offer while your shift lasts.

You must ensure you do not become intoxicated to the extent that you are unable to carry out your duties. When your shift ends, your free drink period will also end.

During set up and take down the site is ‘dry’, while work is being done.

We are sorry, but all volunteers must be 18 years of age or older on the day they are volunteering.
